Preserving most textiles begins with safely packing and storing them in a way that suits not only the artifact but also your available space and budget. Our Vac & Pack services provide a quick assessment, surface cleaning with a HEPA vacuum, and packing in an acid-free museum storage box, all for one low price. Vac & Pack is an ideal solution for clients who do not need a conservation report or who aren't ready to commit to conservation at this time.
Prior to packing, conservators perform a quick assessment to identify any pests, microbial activity, water damage, or other emerging condition issue. Next we carefully surface clean the textile with a high-efficiency filtered collections vacuum that adjusts to a safe level of suction for any textile. Textiles are then packed in unbuffered, acid-free tissue in one of 8 available sizes. |
