Museum Textile Services, a full-service textile conservation studio located in Andover, MA, is looking for a part-time technician. This vital team member will have a working knowledge of museum materials and how to prepare them for conservators. Job activities include cutting, framing, carving, and crating, as well as rehousing, surface cleaning, and photographing artifacts. Candidates must have demonstrated experience with hands-on collections care, including storage, moving, and examining artifacts. Excellent vision or vision correction is required. The technician must be able to climb stairs and carry 40 lbs. Basic computer skills and lab sensibilities are necessary. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
