The Resources page is divided into ten separate categories:
You can reach any of the resource pages by choosing a topic from the drop-down boxes or clicking on either the subject title or photo. This brings you to separate page where the materials are divided in two columns. On the left of every page are all of our one- or two-page MTS Handouts on the subject. These handouts are always free for you to download, print, and circulate to anyone who will benefit from the information. On the right are additional articles, web pages, and other publications of interest. Should you use any of these resources in your research and writing, remember to search out the original publication, rather than citing the MTS website.
The section of the resources page that we hope to expand on in the coming year is our MTS Videos. Currently we have five YouTube videos but we plan to create new ones about everything from using the Andover Figures costume-mounting system to using low-tack adhesives for stabilizing fragile silk textiles. In addition to videos, this section of the MTS website has some of our annotated PowerPoint presentations on topics as wide ranging as illustrated textile conservation terminology and Andean natural dyes.
We hope you find our new web site easy to use and full of interesting resources. As always, we welcome your comments and questions here and on our Facebook page, @Museumtextiles.
